Tournament brackets that follow your rules.

The draw runs the moment the weigh-in closes: the right system for each category size, clubs and countries kept apart, seeds from your rankings, and a bracket that updates itself after every bout on the mat, the screen and the public page.

Every draw system a combat sport uses

  • Single elimination

Straight knockout with byes placed fairly and two bronze medals or a bronze bout, as your rules say.

  • Repechage

Classic long repechage, the losers-to-finalists chain used in wrestling and judo, and doubled placings for every finishing position.

  • Double elimination

A second chance for every athlete, with the losers bracket and the grand final scheduled automatically.

  • Round robin and pools

Everyone meets everyone in small categories; pools with play-offs for larger ones; tie-breaks and extra bouts when three or more are level.

  • Two groups and finals

Two seeded groups with cross semi-finals, used in sumo and team events.

  • Team events

Team brackets with line-ups, substitutions and bout-by-bout scoring.

Seeding and separation

  1. Medallists of a reference event placed in separate quarters
  2. Athletes of the same club or country kept apart for as long as the draw allows
  3. Draw sheets printed in programme order, with a warning when compatriots share a half
  4. Re-draw a category in one click after a late weigh-in change

One bracket everywhere

The bracket the referee confirms is the bracket on the mat-side TV, on the broadcast overlay and on the public event page — no copying, no second source of truth, and it keeps working offline in the hall.

FAQ

Which bracket system should a judo or wrestling tournament use?

Most federations run single elimination with repechage for the athletes beaten by the finalists, and round robin when a category has five or fewer athletes. Martial Cup picks the system by category size from your rules and lets the organiser override it.

Can brackets be seeded from a ranking?

Yes. Seeds come from the federation ranking or from the results of a reference event you choose, and medallists are placed in separate quarters before the rest are drawn with club and country separation.

Can we print the draw sheets?

Yes. Draw sheets are generated as PDF in programme order, ready for the notice board and the referee table, and they update if a category is re-drawn.

Do you charge a fee per competitor or per registration?

No. Many tournament platforms charge every athlete a booking fee or take a percentage of entry fees. Martial Cup does not: federations pay a fixed annual plan, organisers a fixed price per event, clubs a flat subscription. Entry fees stay with you.
